buenas tardes amigos
Hey guys, long time no update, yeah?
So I'm sitting here in the library before my 4:30 listening to Ben Folds Five (Air, right now) trying not to fall asleep. I tell you what these classes are truly kicking my butt. I went from taking easy silly classes that i easily got As in and now I'm working my butt off! I like it better this way though. I feel more accomplished and like I'm actually learning something, which is a good feeling concerning the financial woes I go through for school. I've already had 3 papers all due this week (turned in 2 already today-hott!), I have 2 exams next week, lab reports, and notes on all the different orders of insects....WHEW! What's awesome is taht my spanish is already getting back to normal b/c I'm in 2 classes and speaking w/native speakers and study abroad-ers. I'm still not where I'm supposed to be and I don't know that I will be until I study abroad. I may go to a spanish church or somewhere....spanish grocery store perhaps? I need to speak it b/c the classes I'm in aren't for learning spanish, they're for literature (ah!)
I LOVE my entomology class, I did my first dissection
It's so interesting as I knew it would be and I can't wait to continue the minor (which I haven't declared yet.....)! I also love my philosophy class (metaphysics) although it's super duper intense, for me at least. I feel like I'm in there w/a bunch of brains but I have to really think hard to wrap my head around some of this stuff. We just watched a movie on multi-dimensional time travel which was insane to say the least. You shoudl watch it though, it was pretty interesting (it's called primers).
ummmmm being home for break was awesome as to be expected....work kinda sucks but is necessary (for the time being at least), although I love making coffee drinks (if i could just be barista all day that'd be ideal) and I love my regulars. Mr. Rich brought me an orchid the other day to try to revive
I'm excited .. .. I hope I'm successful! I got an MP3 player for Christmas which is how I'm listening to music (allman bros. right now btw) and it's awesome. I haven't put all my music on it yet though because I'm tryign to put EVERY CD EVER that I own on my computer and to fix all the crappy tracks, just fix everything basically before I put it on here and clog it up. So let's trade music? ok
omg so yesterday I went to the game (which was awful but y'know...) and I sat ON THE FLOOR thanks to Lacey and Travis. May I just say that even though it's not as fun to not be able to stand up and yell and be weird, it's sooooo much more exciting being THAT close (and in good company, of course). Speaking of Lacey, we were talking about 'the good 'ol days' yesterday and I miss Larry and Matt and Corey
If you guys are reading this WE NEED TO HANG OUT!!!!
Also I hiked in Umstead yesterday w/Lin Lin and had a blast! It was so gorgeous and I can't wait until it's warmer outside - I'm goin in that water man, you can't stop me! Oh! you guys shoudl come w/me too b/c I need to collect insects for my class.
So yeah I'm super exhausted but the good news is Fridays are nothingness for me so you shoudl call me and we'll hang out or something. So far I have a party to go to Fri. night (which doesn't rule out your party of course...you shoudl still invite me), I want to hang out w/Lacey at some point, and I want to try and visit E-Beth at work b/t 6 and 9, you wanna join me? The moral of the story is that I am truly blessed and can't wait to get good grades this semester because that's my aim. Come hike w/me or go to the gym w/me....I need a sauna partner!
Ryan Guerry left today.....good luck to you man! I know you'll have a blast and wow everyone over in Kansas city. Much love!
p.s. look for me in the technician and if you see me holler
abrazos y besos,
Katrin
